Bumblebee Photography was formed in 1999 by Catherine and Ian Humes. This endeavour has been born of our love for photography, the amazing medium that allows us to record the beauty and diversity of both British nature and the people who live and work there. Everyone views life differently, and we feel privileged to be able to share with you the way that we see our world.

We are based in Cranleigh in Surrey, and cover neighbouring counties West Sussex, Hampshire and Wiltshire.  

We design and produce prints and mounted prints and framed prints to special order. Images are available in these formats, so do please contact us to obtain a full-sized original of your favourite Bumblebee picture.

specialises in nature, rural and rural events photography.  She finds human faces endlessly interesting, and frequently explores her subject's expressions and aims to capture them with the personality that she perceives. Catherine now has several years' experience in creative photography and commissions.  Catherine has been actively interested in photography since an early age, when she was equipped with a 35mm camera and a small flash unit.  Holidays in Wales and Cornwall then became fascinating!  Catherine obtained her first 35mm SLR in the early 90s and since then has diversified into digital SLR photography.

enjoys photographing all subjects with a unique and sensitive eye.  He has a preference for the wilder areas in terms of landscapes, Dartmoor, Snowdonia and Skye being particular favourites.  Ian usually finds interesting patterns in nature, as his leaf macro pictures demonstrate.  He has over 20 years experience in SLR photography, that started during his teens with a Zenith camera and has progressed to Canon digital cameras and a selection of Canon Professional lenses.

We are both Licentiates and members of the Royal Photographic Society.  We believe in constantly reviewing and improving our technical ability and keeping up to date with leading edge technologies and styles.

All images created by Bumblebee Photography are taken using Canon EOS cameras and lenses, and individually colour and contrast balanced by us to ensure the ultimate in quality.  The images are also printed by ourselves on archival-quality paper, ensuring years of viewing pleasure.  We commission custom hand-sized single mounts from a fine-art framer of distinction based locally.
