The images displayed in this Online Album have been saved so that they have a fast download time and are quickly available. To have a fast download the files need to be relatively small and therefore can not contain the full depth of detail that the original image captured. The square images in this Wedding Book are saved so that they are 450 pixels square and the portrait/landscape images are 450 x 299. The original images were 3072 x 2048 which means that even the 450 x 450 pixel images only cover about 1/30th of the original image's area. However as we are using a different file format to minimise file size and maximise download speed the images displayed are roughly 1/500th the file size of the original high definition images. Well that’s enough math, look at the following example:

450 x 450 Pixels from Original Image

If the top image was printed as normal photographic quality (300 pixels per inch) using the high definition original image then the final output would be 10” x 6.8” inches. The bottom picture would form a square that is 1.5 inches along each edge within the centre of the image. Using the latest in fractal "up-ressing" technology we are able to produce images up to A3 (16” x 11”) at 300 pixels per inch. These huge images can be viewed from a few inches and are still pin sharp and full of detail.
